The facility is designed to produce 720 kilograms of hydrogen daily using locally sourced biomass from the wood industry. The hydrogen will cater to both industrial consumers and mobility applications, supporting the transition to cleaner energy. Additionally, the plant will supply electricity to the local grid and produce biochar—a carbon-rich byproduct beneficial for soil enrichment and recognized for its carbon sequestration properties.

H2 bois SA was established by the Corbat Group, in collaboration with Planair and Romande Energie, to spearhead projects focused on producing hydrogen, electricity, and biochar from biomass. The project leverages Haffner Energy’s proprietary Hynoca® technology, a biomass thermolysis and gasification process that efficiently converts biomass into hydrogen and biochar.
